How did Dalio Family Office start?

Ray Dalio founded the hedge fund Bridgewater Associates, and his family office supports the Dalio family's ventures, investments and work through Dalio Philanthropies, according to ADGM. On 19 April 2023 ADGM announced that the office had opened a regional office in Abu Dhabi, adding to offices already established in the United States and Singapore. When the office was first set up was not found. [1]

Who runs Dalio Family Office?

According to Bloomberg News (February 2026, as published by Bloomberg Línea), the office is led by chief executive officer Janine Racanelli, with Alma DeMetropolis, a former JPMorgan Chase executive, as deputy chief executive officer. Bloomberg reported in September 2025 that Ray Dalio had become the office's de facto chief investment officer after a former Wall Street executive who held that job left unexpectedly in 2024, and in February 2026 that Dalio had hired Steven Kryger to help oversee investments. How big is Dalio Family Office?

No figure for the office's total assets was found. Bloomberg News reported in February 2026 that a 13F filing by an operating entity of Dalio's investment firm showed about US$503 million in US-listed securities at the end of 2025. A 13F lists only US-listed stocks and similar securities such as ETFs, so this is not the size of the whole office. [3]

What does Dalio Family Office invest in?

ADGM said in 2023 that the Abu Dhabi office oversees Dalio family investments, philanthropy and strategic partnerships around shared interests such as ocean exploration. According to Bloomberg News, more than three quarters of the US-listed holdings in the 13F for the end of 2025 were in an exchange-traded fund that tracks the price of gold, with smaller positions in ETFs tracking US Treasury bonds and the S&P 500. How is Dalio Family Office set up and regulated?

It is a single family office serving the Dalio family; Bloomberg describes it as based in Westport, Connecticut. ADGM announced its Abu Dhabi regional office on 19 April 2023 and referred to an existing office in Singapore. ADGM states that a single family office there does not require a financial services permission (FSRA authorisation is needed for multi-family offices) and may register as a restricted scope company that discloses only its name and address; the legal names of the US, Singapore and Abu Dhabi entities, and of the entity that files Form 13F, were not found. What changed in 2025 and 2026?

In September 2025 Bloomberg reported that Dalio had finalised his long-discussed plans to exit Bridgewater Associates and had become the family office's de facto chief investment officer. In February 2026 Bloomberg News reported the office's 13F for the end of 2025, showing about US$503 million in US-listed holdings, mostly in a gold ETF, and named Janine Racanelli as chief executive officer and Alma DeMetropolis as deputy chief executive officer.
